Macro Collage

This was our assignment this week to create a collage using the macro function on our camera. I had a lot of fun with this. At first I had a really hard time finding the function as it wasn't were my other settings were located in the menu.

I enjoyed thinking of and visualizing what my pictures would look like using this close-up feature. I created the collage in Picasa. I would like to see other programs that maybe have more options to make these collages. I tried to vary the items that I chose to photograph, from things at my home to things at my work and a recent bouquet of flowers that my daughter received. I found this assignment had me looking at things with a different mindset - how would that picuture look, what angle would be the best, and different objects that stuck out to me as ...hey that would be a neat picture.

  1. Paula,
You did such a wonderful job with your collage! You included some very interesting objects, which was so neat to see! I love how you incorporated the flowers. This really put bright colors into your collage. I like how there are 3 flower pics on the top of the collage and 3 on the bottom. They are in the same spots opposite from each other. This really brings the whole collage together!

    Great job again!

  2. Paula this was a great job. I think what I liked best besides the Twix bar, lol, was the different textures that all of your photos showed. I really liked that. With the flowers being so gentle and the smooth fruit and then the fabrics were all various and thent he golf ball was a little rough, and then to add the angles on the different pictures. I really enjoyed the variety.

  3. Paula, you have some very interesting pictures. I like the way you distributed your colors throughout your collage. I really like the angle and color contrast of the apples, and I have to agree, I would really love a twix bar right about now!

To answer your question from my blog, I had Picaso version 3.8, and at the bottom of the pictures, there was a collage button. It scattered my pictures for me, but then I decided to rearrange them and place them in a more eye pleaseing way.

    Great job!

  4. Thank you everyone for your comments. I really enjoyed this assignment and using the Macro function. I've seen it there, but never really knew when to use it...only thought it was used for flowers.

I tried to create another collage using a different program, but it slowed by computer down immensely. I will keep working on different collages.

Thanks again for the comments. I have enjoyed viewing others work as each of us brings a little piece of our world into the assignments through our pictures...it is neat!

  6. Paula, I love how you bordered the picture in matching prints. Also love the way the glass train looks like it's riding off the side of the picture.

  7. The pictures that caught my eye were of the glass train. I like how the light bounces off of it and it sparkles, trains are pretty cool to start with anyway.
Looks like you have a few carpet textures in there, very nice, along with what looks like a leather or Naugahyde texture of a sort.
Very nice and vibrant flower pictures, that Is what i need to make my winter less wintery!
