I had a lot of fun with this assignment. It was a beautiful day yesterday in the 50's here and sunny so I tried to get outside and take some natural light shots. I must say with the snow it really gives off bright light. I worked with the settings we've been working on and was able to adjust the light on the camera before I clicked the shoot button. I like using the camera
view in lieu of the LCD. But LCD makes it must easier for reviewing the photos once taken.
The first few are examples of Complementary Color Schemes, and the last few
, I believe, will fall into the Analogous Color Schemes.
I love the last photo of the eggs. It is so simple and yet beautiful! I like the point of view as well. What kind of a chicken is it that lays blue eggs?
ReplyDeleteI also love the picture of the eggs! Nicely done. The first tree pic is also a great one. I like the birch in the foreground, and how the bright blue sky makes all the branches stand out.
ReplyDeleteAwesome tree picture. Got to love how the snow creates great backgrounds. The eggs also look great. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI believe the eggs are actually Robin eggs I found in a nest by the cabin in the picture with the birch tree. It was built in the corner of the eves, and I just happen to look in and they were there. Unfortunately, they didn't survive last year! These pictures were taken about 1:00 - 3:00 p.m in the afternoon.
ReplyDeletePaula, I love the eggs in the nest, they just go together naturally, so even though I might not wear the colors together, they still look right together.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone that the eggs are my favorite! The analagous color scheme really makes the eggs pop.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with everyone as well in agreeing that the photo with the eggs is just amazing! That is such a great photo! If you don't mind me asking, was this a nest you saw outside? Or is it decorative? The tourquoise color in the eggs just make them pop right out of the photo!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure any of these actually meet the criteria of the color schemes we learned about Wk4. Red/green is complementary. For monochromatic hues, & tints of one color, yet the blue eggs jump out in the neutral brown nest. Analogous is colors next to each other on the color wheel, so your blue sky, green trees photos meets that criteria, yet the large expanse of white snow, adds high contrast to the scene. As for the rhinestones, I wonder what lighting you used? There is too much light on the rhinestones, so maybe a reflected light would work, or natural light?
ReplyDeleteSorry about that Lisa. I really thought I had a good grasp on the color schemes, but see I need more work. I know my blog didn't quite fall in place as I thought it would when I posted. I will definitely try to improve my blogging skills to get these to fall where I need them. I thought that the yellow & purple flowers and/or the blue eggs with the brown nest would be the Complementary photos and the black and gray (rhinestone) would be an example of the monochrome and that the landscapes with the green and blue (I will try to eliminate some of the white to avoid the high contract it brings) would be Analogous. I will certainly try to get better at recognizing these color schemes. Thank you for your feedback.
